Just Imagine The Possibilities
With A Natural Florida Limestone ...
|
Cap Stone Industries of Central Florida, Inc. was founded in 2003 after years of research into the possibility of taking natural stone boulders and designing the machinery that would allow us to "cut" the boulders into various thicknesses. |
 |
 |
This process allowed Cap Stone Industries to provide a product that would permit landscape designers to use a "stackable" natural stone product in their outdoor landscaping features while retaining the natural beauty of the stone. Thus, the "Callida Stone" Series was born and has far exceeded our expectations in beauty and versatility.

CALLIDA STONE
A GREEN BUILDING MATERIAL
-
Callida Stone is quarried in Florida, thus it qualifies as a locally, indigenous material. Our quarrying process allows for the land to be reclaimed for farm use once the stone has been harvested, thus making unusable land available for planting. (NAHB 2.8.1 / LEED (EA) 2.2 / FGBC 6)
-
Callida Stone is a limestone and, by it's very nature, is a pervious material that absorbs water and reduces stormwater runoff. Our 4" thick Callida Stone can be used in the same applications as a brick paver. Used in this way, our Callida Stone is not only permeable with a Compressive Strengh average of 3680 PSI (Universal Engineering Sciences Testing), it also helps to reduce the heat-island effect since it is cool to the touch. (NAHB 1.3.5-C / LEED (SS) 3 / LEED (SS) 4.1, 4.2 / FGBC 4)
-
When used as a retaining wall, Callida Stone can help reduce long-term erosion and is not susceptible to rotting or termites. (NAHB 1.3.3-D / LEED (SS) 4.2)
